This thatched redundant Grade II listed barn was to be renovated and converted into a single four-bedroom dwelling with a single storey extension to create garaging for two cars.

The design capitalises on the unique and special qualities of the building and retains as much of its original character as possible The accommodation has been arranged to enable the vaulted roof spaces to be associated with and enjoyed from the principal living spaces, and the introduction of a mezzanine level takes advantage of this exceptionally large space. The change in levels have been utilised within and around the building to accommodate the bedrooms on the lower ground floor and provide accommodation on split levels. The design respects the existing form, detail and materials of the existing building and matching materials have been used in the repair and modification.
