The Old Bakery was purchased 1999 to house DCa's offices as our previous accommodation had become too small. It had been the bakehouse for Revit's bakery in Olney for many years, but was no longer needed and desperately needed a new lease of life.
Planning was sought to change the building to office use and work began. The building was partially reconstructed and completely renovated to create a flexible working space with great character.
After further expansion, the offices were extended and renovated in 2012. The modern addition integrates seamlessly with the existing stone building and, with its North facing clerestory and aluminium and glass screen, provides an even studio light and an excellent inside / outside working environment. The zinc roof is an appropriate and sustainable solution for the setting, and the position, form and profile of the extension and roof means that it is not a dominant feature of the site or the Conservation area. The addition of solar panels on the Southern aspect further enhances the building’s sustainability. State of the art technology has been incorporated throughout to manage and future proof our IT requirements.
Doing our own work gives us firsthand experience of our clients’ needs in terms of adding value, achieving high quality, on time and on budget.
