Village activities in Hanslope presently occupy three different buildings: the village hall (former school), the sports pavilion and the scout hall. The buildings are expensive to maintain and three sites are not ideal.
We were asked to design a new facility will include three halls, one of which will be dedicated to youth activities, in particular, pre-school and scouts. The other two halls can be combined to give great flexibility of use including village productions, wedding parties, etc. There will be meeting rooms for smaller gatherings. The building is designed to address the playing fields and will act as a pavilion and changing facility for football, cricket and other sporting facilities.
The scheme is designed to appear as a collection of buildings with roofs pitched to avoid hidden valleys and to accommodate solar panels, passive stack ventilation and heat recovery systems.
