This project allowed the school to release part of the Junior House from its use as a medical centre for conversion to dormitories.

The original buildings were designed by William Wilkins, (architect of the National Gallery), to house the training college of the East India Company, set in grounds laid out by Humphrey Repton. The setting is therefore extremely sensitive.

Our scheme was designed to partly encircle an existing oak tree and is uncompromisingly modern: designed to complement, but not compete with the surrounding buildings.
