Our brief was to design a new highly individual bespoke home which accentuated its countryside views to the South and was highly sustainable.
The southern orientation was ideal for passive forms of energy collection including solar panels, photovoltaic cells and geothermal energy. The house is designed with air collection and emission points at opposite ends of the roof so that the house is heated and cooled using heat recovery and passive stack systems.
It has been designed with a traditional form and elevation to the road. The rear elevation to the south retains the overall traditional form but makes greater use of glass and timber with overhanging / verandah elements overlooking the river and country park.
