After introducing this site in Deanshanger to Redrow Homes through our close liaison with Savills, we obtained detailed planning consent for a development of 74 dwellings, with associated open space and allotment land.
The scheme provides a balanced mix of two, three, four and five bedroom houses and two bedroom flats, including 30 affordable dwellings. Formally agricultural land, the site is situated close to the village centre and local amenities, including Deanshanger Primary and Elizabeth Woodville Schools.
The scheme was subject to an extensive pre-application process, including public consultation and meetings with the Heritage Society and the Parish Council. The new development draws upon its local heritage providing a traditional approach that relates the scheme to the village, as well as embodying a rural character that befits the edge of settlement location.
The scheme is not only sustainable in planning terms by providing housing and amenities within an area where existing facilities support new development, but also by building new houses that will be energy efficient and promote resource conservation.
