The scheme represents a contemporary, efficient and sensitive design approach and is formed by a juxtapositioning of angular forms and complementary materials. This play and articulation is heightened by the splitting of levels in response to the site’s topography. The materials have been chosen to blend with the nearby traditional houses and dramatic, but appropriate, use has been made of glass and timber. The generous split level accommodation has been designed to allow natural light to flood into all rooms.

The house is designed to conform to ‘lifetime homes’ standards with level access, ample, flexible downstairs accommodation for permanent living, as well as the provision for the insertion of a stair lift should it become necessary.
