Two five bedroom homes were designed to replace a derelict dwelling on this site in Great Brickhill, Milton Keynes.  The scheme has made use of the site effectively and has created comfortable and flexible family homes in the context of a sensitive rural Conservation setting, without affecting the amenity of the neighbouring property.

The dwellings are very different in design, but are related by their use of materials, detail, form and vernacular style.  The site design gives level access around the property, even though the site slopes steeply to the north, and a terracing scheme in the gardens has been devised to make this manageable.

The design has careful reference and respect for the context, but with a clear acknowledgement of contemporary requirements.
