These barns were in the open countryside and had become redundant and unused except for incidental storage.  Our client wished to restore the barns and convert them for residential use.

Our design was based on the re-use and restoration of the existing traditional farm buildings, creating four new homes. There is a limited amount of new building to the central north-south range to join this range of buildings to the north eastern range. All new work is based on traditional plan depths and roof pitches, with the use of traditional materials and details.

The scheme has given the barns a long term and viable future and provided family housing in a natural, attractive environment.
